And today I am so grateful to introduce all of you to Dr. Chris Dieter. Let me tell you a little bit about her. She is a nationally recognized physician, executive, pediatric leader, and healthcare strategist with more than two decades of experience caring for children and leading transformational healthcare organizations. And throughout her career, she has progressed from a practicing pediatric and critical care physician to serving as chair of pediatrics and physician-in-chief of a regional children's hospital here in Reno, Nevada, otherwise known as Renown, Renowned Healthcare, I just I guess I should say, where she built and has built high-performing physician teams, strengthened community trust, and developed innovative leadership structures that improve both patient care and organizational performance, known for her expertise in physician engagement, workforce stabilization, recruitment, and leadership development. Dr. Dieter, I won't have to just call it Chris, has successfully aligned clinicians, executives, community stakeholders around shared vision of excellence and service. Her leadership journey offers valuable lessons for anyone seeking to build strong teams, navigate change, and create lasting impact and lead with purpose and high-pressure environments. I am so glad you're here. So healthcare is, I guess, challenging these days in many different ways. And so I'm I'm curious, you know, how have you been navigating? And I and part of part of me is also thinking, you know, this like from the you know, there's health care and then there's insurance, right? And I'm just like so how do you navigate that and to provide the best care?

Yeah, no, I mean, I think I think with experience, you just learn to ask a lot of questions. There's a lot of work I've done on myself and through leadership, something called advocacy versus inquiry. And I think as pediatricians, our heart is in fighting for kids and advocating and

Leading with curiosity instead of "fists up"

kind of putting our fists up and saying, listen to us and do these good things for kids and do these good things for pediatric healthcare. But where I've really learned to turn the dial as a leader is leaning, not coming into those conversations and not coming into meetings like with my fists up anymore, but coming in with curiosity. So when you're sitting across the table with a payer, with an insurance company or with an administrator that maybe doesn't take care of patients, that's not their focus. Their focus is revenue, right? Instead of coming up with my fists up and kind of pounding on them and saying, hey, listen to me, do this. I've really shifted into coming in with inquiry, curiosity. Like, tell me more about what you are trying to achieve here. Tell me more about what your goals are. And maybe if I can understand that, then I can help you understand how we can align and maybe get things done that serves our patients and serves your company. So that's kind of my summary statement of how I approach that, I guess. And it's every day, and it's just learning as much as you can as you move through your environment and your work and your profession. You have to learn about all the other pieces of it, not stay too tunnel vision on your one piece.

Jaclyn Strominger 4:19

So speaking of that, like not staying too tunnel vision. I mean, obviously starting out for in your career in you know as a clinician and being in, and then now you've moved up, you know, that's I mean, you've had great success. So, you know, how do you, you know, what's your what's your what do you attribute to that?

SPEAKER_02 4:40

Great question. When I look back now in my old age, I think it's I'm kidding and not kidding. I mean, I think it's really about investing yourself in every opportunity. My husband and I were kind of tossed around the country, and there were times that we got to make that choice, and other people made that choice. We were in the military, we were in service, I'm in training. And I think if you go into each opportunity kind of excited and invest yourself, whatever that is, and just know you're gonna get whatever you can out of that job and out of that community. I mean, we moved to places like Columbus, Georgia, you know, kind of randomly in San Antonio. I know. In the military, we called it the swamp. That was Fort Fort Benning at the time. But you get moved to these places. And if you aren't all in and you don't invest in where you are, then you'll be negative. You won't be successful, you won't achieve what you need to achieve, and you won't learn anything. And I've really found that in each, with each opportunity and with each space, I learned so much just by being present, by again, being curious, by getting to know people, by building relationships. And those relationships have served me well in getting to the next thing, you know. And then when you need that letter of recommendation, at least you've bonded with the people around you, or they see you or they understand you, and that helps raise you to the next level. So I guess that's been my success and really just investing every space I've been in.

You know, I I I just want to kind of share listeners, this is actually a really key thing. So key point, because investing where you are, you could it's it's making the most out of something, like always finding that silver lining. Like, what can you learn from where you are, or what can you learn from the adversity that you're facing? There everything has a has a positive takeaway that you can do. So that's I think one of the key, you know, what you just shared is one of those key tips about unstoppable success that has helped you do that because you are taking away. And and listeners, that's really important. So no matter what you're going through, find the learning.

Yeah, uh, show up for work every day. You know, you teach your kids like find a job that gets you out of bed in the morning. You know, you hear that one all the time. But you actually have to create that sometimes because some of the jobs aren't great, or some of the things you might have to do on the way to wherever maybe aren't as exciting. But if you put your twist on it and you lean into it, and again, for me, it's all about relationship. It's really, you know, as a physician, it's a life of service, it's wanting to show up for people. I started as a waitress. You know, you end up you end up serving people your whole life, right? As a waitress, I worked at the gap, I worked at the ticker master. Like it was constantly being drawn to things where I was serving people, and that ends up then later being healthcare. And then if you're not invested in school, then you're not learning everything you need to learn to get to the next place to actually take care of somebody competently. So that's it, I it is truly like putting your all into everything and not doing it half-assed.

Jaclyn Strominger 7:40

Yeah. Right, right. I think we need to do it half-ass. Yeah. And then those actually should be like, you know, in the gift store.

Right. Totally. I'd sell those. I'd sell those. That can be my motto. I'll put it at the bottom of my email. Don't do it half-assed.

But but it's actually, you know, and you're saying that it's it's it's so true. Like, don't do anything half-assed. And I'm and I'm curious, you know. So many times people get hung up on, you know, the title they have, or you know, the name that's on the the door, so to speak, you know, but in the end, we again, you just don't want to do anything half-assed.

Yeah, nobody's gonna remember the title. They're gonna remember the work you did and the commitment and the person you were and what you what you did in service and what you left behind, how you related to people. They're not gonna remember you were a senior vice president of quality control of safety and what like that's not gonna happen. They're gonna remember who

you were. So lean into it and try new things. I mean, that's another thing. We've I've done all kinds of crazy things from even in medicine, from urgent care to ER to hospitalist, ICU to cardiac. Like you just do new things and you learn so much, and you just create that broad level of experience that people get to know you and trust you, and then they're gonna remember who you are again. I nobody's gonna remember my titles ever.

And that's you know, how you show up. And I feel like I couldn't say that better myself because I, you know, I talk a lot about relationship capital and what you're saying, you know, obviously building those relationships and how you show up every single day truly matters. You know, I think I've said this before, you know, whatever baggage you have from whether it's something that you an argument that you had, or you know, you can't have, you know, or going from one patient to another patient, right? If something's bad happened to one patient, you can't walk into the next room carrying that baggage. You kind of have to like leave it, sit it someplace else, walk into the room with a happy smile on your face, and how do you show up?

Yeah, it's a perfect example. I teach my residents, my students all the time. Every room you walk into, they have to feel like they're the most important thing you've done all day. And if you walk into a room in the ER and say, Hey, I'm so sorry, I've had four other critical cases, you know, you weren't as important, so that's why I'm seeing you last. You just set the tone for a really bad visit. Your patient satisfaction scores just went down. And they're not going to trust you. Um, you're obviously you've just minimized them, whatever their problem is. Maybe it's a stub toe, but you need to walk into that room, and it doesn't have to be with a smile. Not all of us can smile all day long, but with a focus. And maybe you just sit down for a minute and you take a breath and you ask a question and you listen. And for me, that's the key to success in patient care because when you do that, you might actually learn something that's not in their lives or on their chart, and you know, a perception that you had when you walked in the door of something you're gonna fix. Maybe you're actually gonna learn what why they're really there and actually say something to them that's helpful or do something that's helpful, and then they're gonna leave there feeling seen and feeling cared for, and that's how you build trust in your organization.

Jaclyn Strominger 11:02

Well, and I think that's also so important. Like when you for, I mean, as a physician, anybody, any doctor, like you, and even in any in any business relationship too, you have to ask the questions to find out like either what the need is, what the what why you know, either why they're there or why did they call you in to present. Ask questions.

There's something really basic. When we become doctors, we learn how to do a history and physical. That's your the basic part of becoming a doctor. The basic first few months of clinical care is learning how to do a good history and learning how to do a good physical. And we joke that the students do this like 60 question history. And I'm not gonna do that every time I walk into the room from now on. But by learning to do that and learning all the questions, it's really a deep dive. And I think it's helped me in leadership. In leadership, that's what I do when I walk into a meeting or into a complex situation or into a project. I'm actually doing a history and physical, actually less asking a lot of questions, listening, and then examining, getting my arms around the data or the numbers, the building, whatever it is, and then coming up with diagnosis and treatment. I mean, it's really a lot of the same same skills I learned as a medical student. It's kind of fun to think about it that way.

Jaclyn Strominger 12:18

So as you think back like to your like what you've done, like what was there, has there been one thing that was like the ultimate, like def like something that was truly defining in in your career that you're like or changed your path?

SPEAKER_02 12:39

So we have a little saying, my husband and I, things always work out for the deaters. We uh things would happen to us. So my husband took the military scholarship to pay his way through med school, and this was pre-9-11. We had no idea what we were getting into. So from that point on, things happened to us, right? That we didn't have control of, you know, Trade Center happened. Next thing you know, our lives are changed. Next thing you know, he's being deployed, he's in Baghdad, he's in Mosul. You can't, those moments were all defining, but we didn't get to decide, you know, that this was what was going to happen. It's how you respond to those things. All of those opportunities, all of the moves from Fort to Fort, my own service with the healthcare. So I served in a in a government capacity. I served in underserved areas and FQHC, so federally qualified health centers, all of those things I think helped define and help show me what I really wanted to do. So, you know, every space I was in, was I drawn to like you're doing your OBGYN rotation in med school, was I drawn to the mom and the delivery, or did I follow the baby to the bassinet? So I always say you have to pay attention to where your heart is leading you in every space. And throughout all of my jobs, whether it was FQHCs or urgent care or whatever, I was always drawn to the most acute. So I think in just realizing that in all my early years and all the jobs that I had, realizing that I, you know, code blue goes overhead, I ran to the code. Like I didn't run away from it. I just started listening to that. And after I finished training, I was in practice for six years as a general pediatrician. And just by listening to that, I think my defining moment was realizing, okay, I've got these two little kids. My husband's deployed, but what I really love is running to the code. What I really love is that critical care piece. And so I went back to fellowship, and that absolutely changed. I went back to ICU fellowship and three years of training and intensive care. That changed my trajectory as far as what happened later. I probably would have been doing something very different in prevention and advocacy and general pediatrics. And instead, I ended up in this kind of acute critical care space that helped develop me as a leader. So I don't know if it was a defining moment, but it was a listening.

Jaclyn Strominger 14:55

Well, they're defining steps. It's like listening. It's like listening to yourself. And I, and I think, you know, again, listeners, this is actually a critical piece. Like as you would, you know, everything that you do builds to something, but it's paying attention to the things that like almost like that make your heart sink, right? Yeah.

The things that are gonna get you up in the morning. What's gonna get you up in the morning? What's gonna get you to work, right? And you have to listen to that. And maybe it's reading or maybe it's teaching. I know I have a lot of clinicians I work with, that they are just such good teachers. I'm like, listen to this side of yourself. Maybe you need to lean more into academics, and maybe we bring you down to this med school and you teach a class, you know, do didactic. Like, listen to those things about yourself and then lean into your strengths. And it's another big thing for me is know your strengths and then do those things. So Clifton strengths is a big leadership assessment that I love. Once I did my Clifton strengths, and then I did it again because I didn't believe it a few years ago later. Like, what? That was the same. I learned to lean into those things, lean into your strengths. So don't try to do the things that are harder for you. You don't have to sometimes, you don't have to build those skills up necessarily, but maybe lean into your strengths and that'll help with the rest.

Yeah. So so as you've been going through, like what is also, you know, you know, you success also comes from building really great teams. So, you know, share a little bit about, you know, I think teams really separate organizations, you know, it's like good or bad. It's like people love going to work because they're part of a great team. So how have you built like really great teams? I mean, I get to see, I get to witness, you know, the the pediatric residency when they're coming in and all the excitement. So it's really, really cool. So how do you how have you built that and fostered that? And besides, it's not just cake, I know.

SPEAKER_02 17:28

Oh, the cakes are amazing. Thank you. Um, Jacqueline makes this amazing intern cake, welcoming to the internal. Not me. I hire someone to do that. You create this vision and they all walk in. There's like stethoscopes on it, and it's like awesome. Anyway, I mean it starts from the minute your team starts, right? Whether it's an employee or an intern. So they come into your space. Let's just walk through that. That's the best way maybe I can describe it. So you go through the interview process, you really vet them, you you listen to them, you get to know them, you hear them, you pick good people, hopefully. So you interview, you bring them in. And then from the start, I always say you've got to set them up for success. Like, don't set them up for failure. And setting them up for failure means like neglecting to support them and train them. That just that neglect is setting them up for failure. So set them up for success. Lean in, listen, do team exercises right away. So help them feel part of the team. Introduce them to everybody. First day on rounds, and like this is so-and-so our pharmacist, this is so-and-so our dietitian, this is so-and-so, you know, our respiratory therapist. So make sure everybody feels seen in your team. Everybody's role is important. On rounds, we do this multidisciplinary rounds with the families. So at each bedside, each child, we have the family step out with us. The kid can listen if they can in the room. And then the whole team is there, and we introduce the whole team, and everybody gets their part of rounds. So this is the problem, respiratory, what's going on with their breathing, pharmacy, let's go through their medications, dietary, how's their diet? Are they being fed right now? And by just really integrating everybody in the team and listening to them again, just it's that, you know, it's that really focused. Listening, they feel like they're contributing, and they are, and that's a huge part of what we do. And they just we become a team. Instead of just that pilot sitting in front of the plane telling everybody what to do, right? Everything changed with crew resource management. Everything changed when people were given position permission or empowered to speak up and say, actually, pilot, you know, maybe we go in the other direction, or actually, there's some wind ahead. Maybe we want to turn. So that crew resource management that happened in health in pilots and airline industry also happened in healthcare. So we do a lot of that. So in my team is a healthcare team. In the business team, it's the same thing. Again, I try to hire people that I hear something special, see something special, see a skill that we need. Fill out your team with different people, different perspectives. Don't hire the same person. Don't hire you.

We say, Don't hire you. You're already here. Don't hire you again. Hire somebody different. Hire somebody with a different perspective or personality or strength because that will help you, that will balance you, that'll add to your team in a way that you can't, right? And then just again, continue to include them, listen to them, train them, teach them,

Why you should stop hiring people just like you

respond to them in a way that's not condescending. Don't bring them down, don't defeat them, but instead build them up. Tell me more about that, tell me how you got there, have you considered this? Redirect if needed, and then just continue to invest in them and mentor them. So a lot of what I do is just mentoring and coaching my team and employees. And the coaching is right. A lot of sitting and listening, it's not telling them what to do, right? Sitting and listening and helping them find their own strengths. And then I put them all through clifting strengths and all the other things. And I was just helped to try to build that. And it's not perfect, you're not fully in control of every team you work on. But if you think about it from that first day coming in, building that team, it's really helpful.

Jaclyn Strominger 20:56

So something that you just said, I'm some kind we know not to hire ourselves because we we we we we're not hiring clones of ourselves, but but values are really important, right? So, like you could, you know, so how do you bring that in? Because I, you know, I think that's something that again, you're not hiring you, but there's but I believe at least so I'm curious what you think about you know the values that somebody has and how that relates to the team.

SPEAKER_02 21:29

Yeah, that's a great question. I'm just thinking it's hard to interview somebody and really from an interview understand their values. I think the better way to do that is maybe share yours and watch the response. So like I always say, you know, a lot of just self awareness is actually other awareness. Like, how are people reacting to do to you? Do you feel that person like when you're asking me a question? Am I leaning in or am I uh, you know, do I suddenly look concerned or wincing or crossing? Arms, it's a lot of body language and watching a face. So it when I'm in an interview, I kind of share how I feel about, you know, one of my basic things is the child has to be the most important thing. The answer is always what's the right thing for the patient. And if I watch an administrator, kind of go, eh, well, it's also about money. Well, that just told me a lot about your values, right? It's just I was just sharing.

Go work in a bank. Or unless I need that guy, unless I need the CFO, right? Right. Unless I need somebody to actually keep me focused on the money so I don't go broke. Because you have, you know, right?

SPEAKER_02 22:31

There's no mission without market or whatever they say. So yeah, so I think it's kind of sharing and seeing if suddenly you can get into a conversation about that. That's maybe a shared value. But maybe it's a slightly different perspective on it, or they came to it in a different way than I did. You know, they weren't taking care of kids their whole career, they were working in a bank or whatever. But do they still care about their customers and their clients and their the people that they work with? You can get that out of a conversation.

Jaclyn Strominger 22:56

Yeah. So so as you know obviously, medicine has changed. Great. So how are you now? I guess for lack of better word, and I don't know, you know, how are we attractive? How how do you feel that you're that we're making medicine attractive to people to want to come in because you know you hear every day about the medicine world is sort of broken or insurance? Like, so how are we attracting or how what do you feel like is like like how do you bring people in and getting people excited to be doctors? I mean, we need them.

Yeah, I mean, one thing we're talking about a lot is AI, right? Is I AI gonna replace all of us? That'll take care of the insurance problems. That'll be a lot cheaper, maybe.

Jaclyn Strominger 23:57

God, insurance companies. So just leaning into that one piece of it, let's say, what we the response to that, a lot of us that talk about this in the national space about what do we do with AI? Is it going to eliminate general pediatricians? Is a robot going to be able to come and ask some questions and make a diagnosis and hand out here's your vaccines and these are the physical exam things and here's your advice? You know, you can blurt that out, you can put it into a robot. What a robot doesn't have is humanism, it doesn't have a soul, it doesn't see that mom come in with her baby for a two-month-old physical, and it can't look at her and say, Oh, she looks a little depressed. Then you pull that out a little bit, right? The robot's not going to be able to replace that human contact and that caring, you know. Even Siri can have a nice little voice, but you know it's fake, right? It's it's you still need that. People need a physician to listen to them and hear them. And there's a lot they want to share that again, maybe isn't all about their stubbed toe. So when you when we train, we when I talk to students when I'm enter undergrads, I have two undergrads kind of following me this summer. What I get them excited about is that opportunity to really be someone that a patient trusts. Yeah. And how do you do that? And so we really talk about those special things about being a doctor. So instead of talking about the negative things all the time, because we can talk about that all day long, instead, let's emphasize the positive things that we do and let's share those cases, let's share those patients, let's share those stories that are special and inspiring and attract people to medicine. The student I just had come through. I mean, I I did a lot of different things with him, but what I took him to our Schwartz rounds, and our Schwartz rounds is a time where our hospital comes together, all the different employees, and we share hard things and we talk about sad things, and it's a very safe space. And I don't know, it was his first day, but I'm like, well, come join this thing with me. He walked out of that session so inspired to go into healthcare. And I was just like, I didn't even do anything. I just brought him into the space and I showed him these people, everyone from our crisis counselors to our nurses to our environmental staff to our security team. They're all sitting there and they're sharing. And that to him was so special that we had this community that just truly, you know, was invested, loved what they did, showed up, showed up even through the hard things. And again, a robot can do some of these things, but they can't be that full, compassionate human physician. So it's focusing on that.

Jaclyn Strominger 26:29

You know, I I'm so glad that you brought up AI because I feel like everything that we talk about these days, day is days happens to be about AI, but and and bringing up that AI is, you know, a robot is not gonna have that same compassion. I mean, thinking about when I when I you know when my kids were little, you know, and you know, it's not cut and dry. It's not it's not robotic to say, you know, saying to the pediatrician, you know, my son was up all night, you know, doing blah blah blah blah blah. And it's not like, you know, and kind of going through like all the things that he ate or I ate, and you know and the conversation. Yeah, the cover, yeah, and and you know, talking about like my philosophy on vitamins or vaccines, and no offense, I don't want them all. I never didn't want my kids to get them all at once, and I spaced them out because that was my philosophy. I got I got them for them.

I believed in those, but not you know, but a robot's not gonna take the time to understand the why, right? Right, they're just gonna say, Well, this is what we have to do. Oh okay, you want to space them out? Okay, we'll give one now, we're gonna, but hasn't changed anything about your relationship with them or your knowledge, even they're not sharing and listening and learning about your son. So I I think it's incredibly important to just stay hang on to that piece of motion. And maybe we have a lot of robot assistants who make our lives easier, right? So that's what I'm saying is we actually that's what I've been, you know, kind of leaning forward on is we have to own the AI, we have to decide what it does. So we just implemented this system that's basically ambient AI that we can walk into a room with our phones and have a whole conversation and examine a patient, walk out, and our notes done. You know what? That's a beautiful thing. I just yep, and your husband will probably share this with you too. But I have a lot of my specialists saying, Oh my gosh, I'm actually leaving at five o'clock. Like my day is done, and I'm not sitting there for three more hours finishing my notes because this has made it easier. So if we can use the tools to be more efficient and to help us in that stuff that wears us down and burns us out, then let's do that. I'm all in, but don't replace the doctor in the room, don't replace that conversation and that patient interaction.

Jaclyn Strominger 28:44

Oh my god, like like just thinking about and it's true, it's like the tools. It's like you know, again, it is a tool, it's a tool, people, right? It's a tool, use it as a tool. But how awesome is that where you could actually my you know have the as you said, take the notes and then then once you hit submit, it does the dictation for you. Yeah, it's and then it just and then disseminates it to all the other people that are that need to have that information, and you can run automations on that to make that happen.

Yeah, the other big space we're seeing they're coming up with right now is let's say you came to me for the very first time, and I don't know, let's say you're very complicated. I'm not saying you are, but you might have a 500-page chart, and I've got the next 15 minutes with you. And when am I going to read that 500-page chart? So there's another tool through AI that it can actually grab your chart and summarize it. And at least bullet point. And again, it won't be all the conversations in every note that you've ever had with every doctor.

No, but it'll pull out the key things.

Yeah, and then I can start with that at least. Now I have a skeleton, I have some bullet points of where to go with you and how to help you. Oh, I see that you've been seen 15 times for this, and none of that worked. So let's go to this before I start a conversation with have you tried this, this, this, and this? And you're like, Yeah, I've tried all that. So that can change it, actually can improve the relationship if you use it correctly. I mean, AIs are only right as good as what you put in. And so, right now, what we're realizing like if I type in help me with this two-year-old with liver failure, with this kind of bleeding disorder with these labs, I'm telling you, half the time I get the wrong answer back from AI because it actually that's never been inputted before. So I've really worked to share with people like be very careful like what information you're getting. Don't trust it just because it typed out an answer for you. Like, if you show it to a few other people, like there's a lot of people I can tell you that's not the right answer. So that's where it gets scary, is you don't want people trusting it. You don't want people at home sticking something in chat GPT and saying, you know, I'm depressed, I need this medication. Maybe not. You know, it might not, it's not, it's not right. Most of the time, it's not right right now. Maybe someday it will get there, but that's not what we should be using the tool for.

Jaclyn Strominger 30:58

Yeah, I feel like it's it's an it's a the overextended, you know, when Google first came out or you know, WebMD, it's like, you know, people would come in and say, Well, I Googled my symptoms, right? I will tell you every conversation. I've I've done that, I've done it, right?

Yeah.

I'm like, okay, let's talk about that some more. Tell me, tell me more.

Jaclyn Strominger 31:25

Well, yeah, I always tell you the one thing that I would I just I'll share this, and people like I'm not opposed to letting people know about this. I literally at one point did Google something and it came back. It said I I had MS, which I thankfully I don't, but I but what it did do was trigger getting some tests done, and I didn't have MS, but I did have Lyme disease. So it was a good thing, but I didn't, it didn't give me the right answer. It didn't even propose that.

Right. But if that's what we had, is that robot now just started treating you? Right, that's where it gets scary to me. That's gets you still need that physician to really walk through it with you and understand you specifically, your labs, your symptoms, and order maybe other things that might actually find out something else is going on, right?

Jaclyn Strominger 32:10

Right. And also because in medicine, a lot of things can look could can present similarly, but are not. And you and I think that's also the thing as a physician, you if you haven't seen something, and you know, you have to know you have to know, and you have to look about what you've learned and really think about what what did you get in, you know, in that lecture, or did you see in that is that the right thing? Compare and contrast. Yeah, don't take it for granted.

Yeah, a really big one right now is there's a shortage of pediatric radiologists. And so everybody's saying, well, AI can read a X-ray, that's easy. And so now they're they're doing this, now they've studied this, which is crazy. And even at Renown, we thought, okay, let's bring on some AIPs radiologists. Well, they just did a huge study on this, and they found that 80% of the time that

reading was incorrect, was wrong. When they actually had trained radiologists go back and look at the same exact studies, it's scary. So even something basic that you would think is pretty straightforward, it's not. A radiologist gets six years of training plus whatever for a reason, and they're actually seeing things on that x-ray that a robot can't see. So even something that we thought would be easy to flip over, and a lot of uh students aren't going into radiology right now because they're worried about that field being replaced by AI. But the studies now over and over are showing that it's not good, it's not there. And until we put in all the data and all the training into AI, maybe it will get there, but not right now. So just be really careful. Don't don't don't just Google it. Google it and then talk to your doctor about it.

People walk in with these printouts. I'm like, okay, like let's take a look. Maybe it'll help me get there faster. But a lot of times it's wrong. And or just bad advice, or it's like, don't buy that, don't give that to your kid. Like, this is actually we can just treat the symptoms. You don't need to buy that thing over the counter for ten dollars. So yeah, that's that's really true.

You know, because I could really talk to you for hours on this. So tell everybody how they can learn more about you and the great things that you are doing, because I think you're truly you are truly amazing, and and it's great to have you in this community. Or I should say I'm in your community both, whatever.

Gosh. I don't know. I'm at so I'm at Renowned Children's Hospital. We're really developing, building this children's hospital team. We are the only children's hospital in northern Nevada, so 100,000 miles. We are the only one, but we're not just the only one. We are the highest quality care that you are going to find in the West, I think. We really try to keep all of our kids in our community, take care of them. We have over 50 medical and surgical specialists for pediatrics. I'm an amazing group, over 50 pediatricians in our community. And I'm just the person there to help guide and lead and inspire and bring more and recruit. And so that's that's where we are. Reno, Nevada, right here next to Lake Tahoe, behind me. It's beautiful. So it's a beautiful place to live. And yeah, that's where you find me.

And and please make sure you understand what she just said. Northern Nevada, near Lake Tahoe. Reno is not anywhere near Vegas. We are eight hours away, seven hours away.

I mean, everybody says that, don't they? Oh, I want to come visit you. I've always wanted to go to Vegas. I'm like, that is nowhere near me. I am closer to San Francisco.

Yeah, exactly. I say that. I'm like, come to San Francisco or Sacramento, and I can go and get in a hop in a car and go. Yeah, let's go to Napa. Napa, easy peasy.

But Vegas, very different, opposite side of the state. Yeah, very different.
